In-line ultrasonic flow meter with IO-Link for liquids including non-conductive ones

In-line ultrasonic flow meter with no moving parts and therefore maintenance-free, also suitable for non-conductive liquids that cannot be measured with electromagnetic instruments. Thanks to programmable medium parameters and temperature compensation it measures almost all homogeneous Newtonian liquids: demineralised water, water-glycol mixtures, oils and hydrocarbons such as ethanol. The compact electronics, configurable on site and via PC, offer relays, frequency and analogue outputs and IO-Link.

Operating principle

The instrument uses the transit-time method: ultrasonic pulses are sent through the liquid with and against the flow, and the difference between the two transit times is proportional to the flow velocity, from which the volumetric flow is derived.

Measuring, monitoring, totalising and batching low-viscosity liquids in the pharmaceutical, chemical and food industries, water treatment, manufacturing, automotive and cooling circuits, where short response times and good repeatability are required.
