Paddle flow switch with reed contact for high pressures up to 250 bar, Ex version

A simple, cost-effective paddle flow switch for monitoring liquid circulation, with switching thresholds from 2.5…4.8 l/min up to 383…533 l/min for water. The brass or stainless steel body withstands up to 250 bar and 110 °C. It is available in a version certified for potentially explosive atmospheres (ATEX, IECEx, CSA).

Operating principle

The flow deflects the paddle according to its velocity; via a balance arm, a permanent magnet is moved into the operating range of a reed contact located outside the process medium. A leaf spring, which also supports the arm, returns the paddle to its rest position when flow stops.

Applications

Up to nominal size 40 the instrument is supplied pre-assembled on a pipe section. For larger pipes it comes with a fitting piece for direct mounting, screwed into standard T-pieces or reducers; sealing is done with PTFE tape.
