Paddle flow switch with G ½ connection for high flow rates, reed contact and Ex version

Paddle flow switch for monitoring high liquid flow rates, with thresholds from 68…90 l/min up to 383…533 l/min for water. It is installed via a single G ½ or ½" NPT connection, has a brass or stainless steel body and operates up to 100 bar and 110 °C. A version with ATEX, IECEx and CSA approvals is available.

Operating principle

The paddle, deflected by the flow according to its velocity, acts on a balance arm that moves a permanent magnet towards the reed contact, located outside the medium. When flow stops, a leaf spring, which also supports the arm, returns the paddle to rest.

Applications

Up to nominal size 40 the flow switch is supplied pre-assembled on a pipe section; for larger diameters it is mounted directly into standard T-pieces or reducers, sealed with PTFE tape.
