Compact stainless steel calorimetric flow switch with LED indication and relay

Compact calorimetric flow switch for monitoring the flow of liquids in pipework. The sensor has no moving parts and detects fluid velocities between 0.04 and 2 m/s. The flow status is shown directly on the instrument's LEDs and is also made available on a relay for driving alarms or loads.

Operating principle

The instrument works on the thermal dispersion principle: the flowing medium draws heat away from the heated sensor, and the degree of cooling is used to assess flow velocity and switch the output when the set point is crossed.
