Flow switch for liquids that works like the conical-slot tube model, but with a return spring acting on the float. Thanks to the spring the instrument does not rely on gravity and can be mounted in any position: one version is for horizontal flow and one for top-to-bottom flow. The body is brass or stainless steel and switching is by reed switch.

Features

  • Versions for horizontal or downward flow
  • Set point ranges from 0.2…3 l/min up to 10…120 l/min of water
  • G ¼…G 1 female connections
  • Maximum pressure 250 bar (brass) or 350 bar (stainless steel)
  • Maximum temperature 100 °C
  • Accuracy ±5 % of full scale
  • Reed switch as standard

Operating principle

The magnetic float, pushed by the medium, moves against a return spring and actuates an external reed switch that is isolated from the medium. The spring replaces the weight force that returns the float in conventional rotameters, allowing horizontal installation or downward flow.
