Viscosity-independent flow meter/switch for viscous liquids, up to 350 bar, from 0.2…0.5 to 8…80 l/min; electronic version with display and analogue output, ATEX/IECEx.

High-pressure version of the patented instrument for viscous liquids: the spring-loaded float, sliding in a cylindrical tube with an integral orifice, fully compensates for viscosity and largely for specific gravity, even at very low flow rates. The brass or stainless steel body withstands up to 250 or 350 bar. Besides the reed switch and pointer indicator, an electronic version with analogue output and digital display is available. ATEX, IECEx and CSA approved versions are offered.
The float contains permanent magnets that actuate bistable, volt-free reed switches mounted outside the flow path, hermetically isolated from the medium and protected by a height-adjustable plastic housing. The medium lifts the float and, when the magnetic field reaches the contact, it closes. At higher flows the float rises to a stop that keeps it within the switching zone, so the contact stays closed: switching is therefore bistable.
