Polysulfone instrument for measuring and monitoring the flow of water and oils. It uses a spring-loaded orifice float in a cylindrical metering tube, a design that reduces the influence of viscosity. One version has a grooved float for liquids carrying suspended particles; another has a sharp-edged orifice that is even less sensitive to viscosity changes.

Features

  • Ranges from 2…20 l/min up to 20…100 l/min of water
  • Ranges from 1…18 l/min up to 10…75 l/min of oil
  • G 1 male connection, with weld-on tube ends or G ½ and G ¾ adaptors
  • Polysulfone body
  • Maximum pressure 16 bar, maximum temperature 120 °C
  • Accuracy ±5 % of full scale
  • Optional reed switch

Operating principle

The orifice float, held back by a spring, moves inside a cylindrical metering tube according to the flow rate. In the anti-clogging version the float has external grooves that prevent dirt from building up: the risk of the float sticking is greatly reduced and liquids containing particles up to 400 µm can be measured. In the sharp-edged orifice version the measurement is less affected by changes in fluid viscosity.
