PVC/PVDF plastic variable area flow meter with loose flanges

Plastic rotameter (PVC or PVDF) with DN15…40 loose flange connections, suitable for liquids and gases in low-pressure systems. The plastic construction is economical and resists many chemicals, while the large sight window gives a direct view of the flow. For limit monitoring it can be fitted with proximity switches with open collector output.

Operating principle

The instrument works on Archimedes' principle. The medium enters from below and passes through a metering cone that widens towards the top; the float rises to an equilibrium position and indicates the flow rate on the scale marked on the cone.
