Flanged cast iron variable area flow meter with glass cone for low operating pressures

Flow meter and flow monitor with flanged connections and cast iron body, for measuring flow in closed pipework. The medium rises through a glass metering cone that widens towards the top: the float is lifted and shows the value on the cone scale. Its design makes it particularly suitable for systems with very low operating pressures, and the large sight window allows the flow to be observed directly.

Operating principle

The instrument is based on Archimedes' principle: the buoyancy of the medium rising through the tapered cone lifts the float to an equilibrium position corresponding to the instantaneous flow rate.

Applications

Flow measurement and monitoring in closed pipework, particularly in systems operating at very low pressures and where seeing the flow at a glance is useful.
