M-LB barriers protect the signal lines of instruments and control systems against surges induced by lightning or switching operations, diverting the current to earth and limiting the loop voltage for the duration of the pulse. Topologies for non-earthed and earthed signal lines and nominal voltages from 1 V to 230 V are available, with Ex i versions for intrinsically safe circuits.

The M-LB-2000 series is a one-piece design, 6.2 mm wide, with screw or push-in terminals and disconnect levers. The M-LB-4000 series consists of a base and a protection module that can be replaced without tools, with status indication and uninterrupted operation (auto reset); the M-LB-4400 fault status module monitors up to 50 barriers.
