HiC termination boards are the backbone of the H-System: every slot accepts any HiC barrier, so analogue, digital, temperature and universal I/O can be mixed on one board. Field circuits connect to the blue terminals, the DCS side to screw terminals (SCT versions) or 37-pin Sub-D connectors (SDC versions) for system cables.

The redundant 24 V DC supply is decoupled, monitored and fused; loss of supply and module faults are reported via a volt-free contact. The Fault Indication Board monitors several boards, while HART Communication Boards with the HiDMux2700 multiplexer collect the HART signals of up to 32 channels via dedicated cables.
