FieldBarrier junction boxes are certified, pre-wired solutions housing FieldConnex FieldBarriers: the segment trunk enters in Zone 1 and the Ex ia intrinsically safe outputs (spurs) supply instruments installed up to Zone 0. Trunk and spur entries are selected individually from M20 cable glands and stopping plugs.

The type code gives: family (FB0 with 1–3 × RD0-FB-Ex4.COM, FB1 with diagnostic R4D0-FB-IA), enclosure (P polyester GRP, S electropolished 316 stainless steel, T brushed 316L stainless steel) and size, certification (A ATEX, G ATEX + IECEx) and number of outputs, bus type, terminals, trunk and spur entries, then tag plate, grounding bar, surge protection and accessories.
