The LMK Thermosafe DIGIHEAT® Base Heater is a heater plate that delivers heat to the base of steel or plastic drums up to 210 litres and smaller containers. The plate temperature is set and read directly on the built-in microprocessor-based digital thermostat.
It can be used on its own, to heat the bottom of the drum, or together with other LMK heaters, such as flexible heating jackets or the THERMOSAFE® induction heater, to reduce heating times.
In a non-classified industrial area, combining the DIGIHEAT with the THERMOSAFE® induction heater to melt a wax with poor thermal properties reduced by 45% the time needed for the entire drum contents to reach 80 °C and melt completely.
The DIGIHEAT, combined with the HPD2 high-power heating jacket, is widely used in the essential oils, flavours and fragrances sector to melt raw materials that are solid or highly viscous at room temperature: see the case study in the Documents and downloads section.
